i think that's going pretty well. you can view my list if you'd like.
alright, i know everyone is dying to know how the impact orientation went yesterday. [initial interest, mutual selection, pre-service training, assessment, continuing development, teamwork] there were two couples there wanting to foster to adopt and a mother and her son interested in fostering and us - adopting. :) first we watched a video that went into detail about what impact stands for, etc. afterwards we filled out our paper for the back ground check and turned it in and then we had to put our information on other form for records and such. we were given two cards each to take with us to the sheriff's office for fingerprints for our criminal record check. there are two packets we got with all kinds of information. the case worker told us that in the end she'll be handed a 2inch folder filled up completely with everything about us in it. lol. she gave everyone a check list with steps on it, but said that alot of the forms we'll be getting aren't even on the check list. for my sanity i'll be making a virtual list and keeping up with it that way - it's much easier and more organized that way. [i'll link said list when i have it posted.] wayd's finally getting excited about it now. ;) it's so cute!!![!!!!] we have to have 20 hrs. of impact training. they're split up into two weekends, one 7hr class and one 4hr each weekend. this weekend starts a session, but since i'm working we opted to go to the next round which she said should be in june. that's fine though, we still have to bust our booties to get our house done b/c once you start the training they start the home studies. o.O
wayd posing before heading for dfcs;
my mum gets her new car tomorrow. i'm jealous because it gets 50mpg. [it's a hybrid] so tomorrow/friday we'll have two running vehicles. now maybe wayd will start working on his bronco. we went and looked at jeeps yesterday, but didn't really find anything that was worth what it was going for. hopefully we can find one he really wants and is willing to pay even a little too much for -welllll- before the year is up. changing subjects abruptly here, we still don't know anything on mike. :/ the coroner's office is still waiting on the toxicology report to come back. it's almost been three months, that's just unreal. having to wait like this is the worst thing there could be. if you don't know what i'm talking about b/c we're new friends feel free to add my old journal[
iamdionarenee] and you can catch up and find out more about me... and see what a sucky lj friend i was when things started getting so rough at the beginning of the year.
the 28th, a week from this friday, will be my last day of first shift. the following monday i start 2nd. i'm pretty excited because i'll be working the same hours as jennie, my bestfriend. she, amanda and i will be going to the gym after work too. yay! plus i'll be able to sleep in instead of getting up before dawn! i'll also be my own supervisor since our area only has one for 1st shift. once we get our child/children i'll be switching to 3rd, which as of now only has one person working on it. lol. that's in our area, the nozzle area tho, the rest of the wax room has a full crew for all three shifts.
ohhhhh i wanted to share a video from youtube that i found while stumbling:
isn't she adorable!?! and the video is awesome. i ended up going and watching 80% of the videos her mummie has posted.
how many of you view postsecret every sunday? did you have a fav this week? i usually do, but the only one that i really liked was the first one about and it wouldn't even make it into a top most liked list. i was disappointed, is that weird?

How far from your last home do you live?
Why did you move and are you glad you did?
Submitted by Matthew 25.My husband and I currently live 3,000 miles from our last real home. However, if you count moving less than a mile then we could go with that, but I rather think that's not exactly a move.
The Day of the Dead (Día de los Difuntos or Día de los Muertos in Spanish) is a holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico and the Mexican immigrant community living in the United States, with variations of it also observed in other Latin American countries and other parts of the world. The Mexican celebration occurs on November 1 (All Saints' Day) and November 2 (All Souls' Day).
Though the subject matter may be considered morbid from the perspective of some other cultures, celebrants typically approach the Day of the Dead joyfully, and though it occurs roughly at the same time as Halloween, All Saints' Day and All Souls Day, the traditional mood is much brighter with emphasis on celebrating and honoring the lives of the deceased, and celebrating the continuation of life; the belief is not that death is the end, but rather the beginning of a new stage in life. In Mexico and Mexican immigrant communities in the United States and Europe, the Day of the Dead is of particular cultural importance.
The Day of the Dead is celebrated to a lesser extent in other Latin American countries; for example, it is a public holiday in Brazil, where many Brazilians celebrate it by visiting cemeteries and churches. In Spain this holiday has great festivals dedicated to it also, there are big parades, and at the end of the day people all gather around cemeteries and pray to their loved ones that have died. Most of them are Catholic. The holiday is also observed in the Philippines. Observance of the holiday in Mexican-American communities in the United States has become more important and widespread as the community grows both numerically and economically each generation. Similarly-themed celebrations also appear in some Asian and African cultures.

monday i had to get up early and go pick up my heart meds and get wayd some medicine. i also bought some kick rear lotion, man that junk is awesome. c brought his xbox 360 over so they could play on the new tv wayd's parent's got over the weekend. it's a 42" hd. luckily i did my workout before he got here because there's no way anyone was going to get the tv away from them once they started playing. of course, it being monday we had our "party-at-our-house-heroes-night". last week was our first one, but since b was sick and ama had to work only c showed up. :/ this time we had several ppl here. :) jus got off work around 2100, so ama picked him up and they came over. c was already here and j was sick, so she left work early and ended up at our house around 1800 or so. b got off at 2130 and then came straight over. c & i made three way spaghetti, so once everyone ate we all sat down and watched heroes. (we record it on the dvr so we don't have to watch commercials.) afterwards the guys all played halo3 online while us girls watched and talked. ext. the house finally cleared out close to 0200. it was great. i'm glad we're going to be doing this every monday! i'm sure we'll eventually start rotating between our place and c&j's, but that's all fine.
yet again.
